Recipe from my childhood cookbook – the Junior Cook, by Mary Pat Fergus. I grew up with these little morsels. These transform me to my childhood.
They are a great one to make with kids, easy and fun to roll, and they love the little fork press at the end for decoration.
These turn out super crunchy once cooled.
Another idea – sandwich two biscuits between some Nutella spread to make “baci” biscuits.
Makes about 25. V. Dough freezes well.

100g butter
¼ cup sugar
2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
1 cup plain flour
A pinch of salt
1 tsp baking powder
½ - ¾ cup dark chocolate chips, or chopped chocolate
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.
Have 2 trays with baking paper ready.
Cream the butter, sugar and condensed milk with electric beaters.
Sift in the flour, salt and baking powder, mix well but quickly.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Roll into teaspoon sized balls and place on the prepared trays a few CMS apart as they will spread a little when cooking.

Lightly press down with a fork to make an indentation into the balls of dough and flatten them a little (not too much) – have a cup of hot water nearby to dip the fork into if it gets sticky.
Bake 12-15 minutes.
Let cool on a wire rack.
